Space Exploration x Climate Change

Most people that you ask will say that they know about climate change, some might say it’s a hoax or have different opinions but it’s everywhere literally and figuratively. It’s everywhere but we haven’t taken enough action for a stable solution. If you’re not into space then you might not know about the current plan for space exploration and what we’ve done so far. But the two have more in common than one might assume.

Nasa just landed their rover on mars named Perseverance. This will scan for life on Mars and if mars will be a steady planet to live on. Since our planet is literally falling apart astronauts are anticipating possible habitat on Mars for humans. Space exploration has much to do with mars currently but why. Well…… climate change is an ongoing problem occurring for more than now one hundred years. Put simply our earth is getting hotter and hotter every day and is literally falling apart. The cause of this are things such as pollution, waste, heat and greenhouse gases which are trapped in our atmosphere and many more factors that tie in.

You might have heard the phrase we only have 12 years left to save our planet, but now might only have until 2026. And that is exactly what space exploration has to do with climate change. In theory, if by 2026 or 2030 our planet is unlivable then humans will essentially “migrate” to mars as our new planet. Current space researchers are working on making mars livable so by chance if we do need to move to mars we wouldn’t have to scramble for resources there but be prepared to live there. That’s the problem, earth is such a beautiful planet we shouldn’t wait to throw it out when it gets old. Humanity grew here and we should plan to thrive here. So we shouldn’t be living and relying on mars as another earth. IMAGINE Mars doesn’t work out what will humanity do then we can’t just sit and watch our planet rot away. Could you imagine soon getting on a spaceship to move to mars and packing your bag to move to mars?

How will moving to mars work one we will need a BUNCH of space ships to get our planet of billions of people there. We’re gonna want to be eco-friendly considering the reason humanity would ever want to live on Mars. But if you take out the climate change factor in space exploration there are also many exploration reasons we want to go to mars.

In my opinion, instead of putting most of our focus into mars, we should work on improving the beautiful earth that we live on right now. Now I’m NOT saying we should eliminate the idea of moving to mars or even minimize it I’m implying that humanity needs to expand work on climate change. Nasa is a public space exploration company but space x is a private company they both have their own advantages in every field which can expand our success rate with this overall goal.

Space exploration and climate change currently are very closely tied. Each may be reliant on the other in many ways. But if you are reading this please do all you can to save our planet.
